CleanShot ("we," "our," or "us") operates a Chrome browser extension that helps users create LinkedIn carousel posts from YouTube video content. This policy explains how we handle your data.

1. Information We Collect

A. Account Information

When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google. This is used solely for authentication and account management.

B. Video Transcripts

When you use the "Generate Carousel" feature, the extension extracts caption text from the YouTube video you are watching. This transcript is sent to our server for AI processing and is stored in your account library.

C. Generated Content

AI-generated carousel content (slides, hooks, CTAs) is stored in your account so you can access it later from the Library.

D. Payment Information

Payment processing is handled entirely by LemonSqueezy, our Merchant of Record. We do not store or have access to your credit card details. LemonSqueezy's privacy policy governs payment transactions.

E. Brand Voice Writing Samples (Pro tier only)

If you are a Pro subscriber and choose to use the Brand Voice feature, you can paste 2–5 of your own LinkedIn posts into the Settings panel. These writing samples are sent to our server and stored in association with your account so that the AI can match your writing style in future carousel generations. We treat these samples as personal communications:

• Samples are stored only on Cloudflare D1 (our database), associated with your account.
• Samples are sent to Anthropic's Claude AI during voice-profile extraction and future carousel generation. Anthropic does not use API inputs for model training.
• Samples are never shared with any other third party, sold, or used for advertising.
• You can view, overwrite, or delete your samples at any time from Settings → Brand Voice → Clear voice.
• Deleting your account removes all stored samples.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Authentication: To identify your account and manage your subscription.
• AI Processing: Transcripts and (for Pro users) Brand Voice writing samples are sent to Anthropic's Claude AI to generate carousel content and extract voice profiles. Anthropic does not use API inputs for training.
• Service Improvement: Aggregate, anonymized usage statistics (e.g., number of carousels generated) may be used to improve the service. Your Brand Voice samples are never used for this purpose.

3. Data Storage

• Account data and generated content are stored on Cloudflare infrastructure (D1 database, R2 storage).
• Data is retained as long as your account is active.
• If you cancel your subscription, your library data becomes read-only but is not deleted. You can request full deletion by contacting us.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your data. We share data only with:

• Anthropic (Claude AI): Video transcripts and, for Pro users, Brand Voice writing samples are sent for processing. Anthropic does not use API inputs for training.
• LemonSqueezy: For payment processing.
• Cloudflare: For hosting and infrastructure.

5. Browser Permissions

• activeTab: To interact with the YouTube page you are viewing.
• storage: To cache your session locally.
• identity: For Google sign-in.
• sidePanel: To display the CleanShot interface.
• Host permission (youtube.com): To extract captions from YouTube videos.

6. Your Rights

• Access: View all your data in the Library tab.
• Deletion: Contact us at thoopring@gmail.com to request full account deletion.
• Export: Download your carousel content via the ZIP export feature.
