Terms of Service
Last updated: 4 August 2026
These terms cover your use of the PowerBar for Xero browser extension and this website ("the Software"). By installing or using the Software you agree to them.
1. What the Software is
PowerBar for Xero is a Chrome extension that modifies how the Xero web application looks and behaves in your own browser. It adds menu entries, shortcuts and a favourites bar, and it can rename invoice PDFs you download. It runs entirely on your device.
It is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Xero Limited. "Xero" is a trademark of Xero Limited, used here only to describe what the Software works with.
2. Licence
The free features are open source under the MIT licence and are available at github.com/thoopring/powerbar-for-xero.
Pro features require a paid licence key. A licence key is for one person and may be activated on up to three browsers. You may not resell, sublicense, or publish licence keys.
3. Payment
Pro subscriptions are sold and processed by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as Merchant of Record. Your purchase is therefore also subject to Lemon Squeezy's terms. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from the link in your purchase receipt; access continues to the end of the paid period.
Refunds are covered by our refund policy.
4. Delivery
Delivery is immediate and automatic. Your licence key is issued the moment payment completes and is shown on the confirmation page and emailed to you. There is nothing for us to fulfil manually.
5. Your data
The Software collects nothing. See the privacy policy for the full description of what is stored and where.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Software to breach your agreement with Xero Limited or any obligation you owe to a client whose books you access;
- attempt to circumvent the licence check or share licence keys;
- redistribute the Software as your own product.
7. Availability and changes
The Software depends on the structure of Xero's web pages, which Xero can change at any time without notice. When that happens a feature may stop working until it is updated, and we may switch an affected feature off remotely so it fails quietly rather than breaking your screen. We aim to fix such breakages promptly but cannot guarantee a timeframe.
We may change or discontinue features. If a Pro feature is discontinued while you are paying for it, you may cancel and request a pro-rata refund of the unused period.
8. No warranty
The Software is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. It does not perform accounting, does not alter your accounting records, and is not a substitute for professional judgement. You remain responsible for the accuracy of your books.
9. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or relating to the Software is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profits or lost data.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including under consumer law that applies to you.
10. Termination
You may stop using the Software at any time by removing it from your browser. We may terminate a licence that is being used in breach of these terms, with a refund of any unused paid period.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The "last updated" date above will change, and material changes affecting paying users will be notified by email to the address used at purchase.
